Who Are We? Antioch is a non-denominational church that was founded over 100 years ago. We are made up of people of all ages who are just trying to follow Christ on a daily basis, and who acknowledge our need for God and for other Christ-followers in their lives. We are not perfect at all... This is a place where you can "come as you are", and hopefully allow God to change you into what He wants you to be.
Our desire is to join with other Christ-followers from other churches and make a significant impact on our community and on our city. We pray that God will be revealed through our lives, that people will know the wonderful act of love that Jesus displayed in His death, and that the Spirit of God will continually work in us to accomplish our goals.
Core Values At Antioch, we exist to make a real difference, impacting our community one person at a time. Everything we do is guided by our core values.

What We Believe
|
|
We need to always be growing spiritually.
We believe that we are on a journey with God. We need personal and corporate Bible study (the Word), opportunities for prayer, guidance from the Holy Spirit, and other spiritual disciplines to keep us walking with God.
|
We need to practice worship and live a life of worship.
We believe that worship is more than singing. Worship is a lifestyle of service and praise to God. By attending weekend celebrations and practicing daily worship (Bible reading, prayer, fasting, singing, journals, etc.), we honor God through lifestyle worship, building a solid relationship with Him. |
|
We need to connect to other people because life happens best in community.
We believe that we need other people to survive. Through fellowship and small groups, we encourage each other, grow together, care for each other, serve alongside each other, and grow the kingdom together.
|
|
We need to empower people to serve because every believer is gifted to serve as the Church.
We believe that every believer is gifted by the Holy Spirit to serve as a functioning member of the body of Christ, the Church. Each believer can use these gifts in coordination with their passions and temperament to effectively make a real difference and impact our community for Jesus.
|
|
We need to empower people to serve because every believer is called to bring others to Jesus (evangelism).
We believe that God is the one who calls, and He is also the one who converts, but it is our responsibility as Christ-followers to bring people to Jesus, to reveal the Jesus who can change lives, and to let the Holy Spirit do the rest.

Weekend Celebration
Location - We are located at 3616 SW 119th Street (see map below)
Time - Sunday, 10:15 AM
Length - Our service lasts about 75 minutes and contains music that is contemporary with some familiar favorites mixed in and teaching from the Bible with application for your life today.
Dress - We invite you to “come as you are” to our weekend celebration. Feel free to dress in clothes that are comfortable for you. You can "dress up" if you want, or wear casual clothes. God is interested in your heart, not your wardrobe.
For parents - Antioch has an exciting Children's ministry where your kids will be taught the Bible in age-appropriate classes. Child care is available for infants; with classes for pre-school aged children that include Bible lessons, songs and fun activities. 1st through 6th grade children also have classes and activities to apply the teaching of the Bible. There are two tables on the West side of the lobby to sign your children in. They are labeled - "Kingdom Kids" (Infants-Kindergarten) and "Kids in Christ" (1st-6th). Your children are welcome to sit with you in the auditorium if you prefer. (Occasional Family Sundays include grade school ages in the main service.) Our teens stay with the adults in the main service. Their age-appropriate time is Wednesday from 6-8 PM.
We pray that you will encounter Jesus in the celebration… that you will see Him in our lives… and that this encounter will change your life.

Our History
The community which surrounds Antioch Christian Church was settled by pioneer farmers who made the Run into Oklahoma Territory in 1889. A school was built one mile north at 104th and Portland, and worship services were held in the school. The congregation soon outgrew the one-room school building and began meeting in a tent on the corner of our present site.
In 1900, one farmer, J. D. Shroyer, donated land and others donated money and manual labor, and the ladies provided meals for workers. When the church was completed, the bell was hoisted to the bell tower. Antioch was chosen as the name for the new church in the new land, as recorded in Acts 11:25: "The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch." The building was completed July 27, 1902.
In December, 1961, the original building and its added classrooms burned. Services were held in a barracks building which had been moved in behind the main building until a new sanctuary was built in 1962. Classrooms were added in 1969, and in 1975, the barn was built providing a gym and more classrooms. Throughout the years, the people of Antioch Christian Church have added a new sanctuary and updated the barn and classrooms. As South Oklahoma City has continued to grow, Antioch has answered the need for Christian education for children in our community, offering a pre-school for ages two to four, and Academy for grades K-8.
